New Fl5 prices are definitely pretty insane, if someone was wanting a Type R I would recommend a used Fk8. I found mine for $38k w 4k miles and I think it's a legit car for that price. I wouldn't pay over $40k for a FWD car, but it has good performance for the price and is as good as other cars in that price bracket including the Evo, STI, Golf R, etc.

Great content! Unfortunately prices in Ireland are even more screwed and for 20k you can only get a used Yaris or something with very high mileage :) I'd like to experience US muscle cars one day though.

Most car enthusiasts need to see videos like these repeatedly to get it in their head that you don't need the newest shiniest thing if you're after fun. Hell I took it to the real extreme and got rid of that. Camaro, switched to two wheels and never looked back. The bang for buck is unbeatable. I actually just picked up a new mt-09sp. 13k out the door gets you Ohlins suspension, and a lovely triple cylinder engine that does 0 to 100 mph in 5.4 seconds.

I have a 2002 LS 430 and the rear latches (same door) look completely different from this? These appear far more complicated than mine do. Replaced all motors and didn't have any issues. Thanks for the video!

Just wanted to take a moment and say props to you both for this video! I changed both driver side and passenger side motors successfully, thanks to your video. A couple more tips: give yourself 2 hours if you've never removed and replaced your door panel, also make sure you remove the negative terminal on your battery if you're going to take a longer amount of time. Thank you! Just a note, the cars with soft close doors have different case halves. The soft close motors are contained in the same space as the lock actuators, and because of this lexus ran serious through bolts and screws through the cases. So the cases don't separate on soft close door models, the motors just burn out.

Love LS400s. Mine has 560,000 miles and still tight and smooth. I am looking at an 2005 XRS with 170,000 for 1200 bucks. Girl says blown head gasket but I won't know till I see it Wed. I also have a Yaris I beat on daily. My LS400 I keep for trips now days.
